Micah, Addie and I headed up to my parent's house to celebrate my Dad's 60th Birthday yesterday. My brother and I planned a small get together to honor him- Matt picked up a DQ ice cream cake and suprised him with it and presents. I think that he enjoyed everything- I know that it was meaningful for him to have us all together. It was too bad that Tim couldn't make it, but I am sure he understood.
Tyler and Micah had a good time eating gummi bears and chasing each other around the house- it is really nice that they are starting to get to know one another. Hopefully they will be able to grow closer now that we live a bit closer to one another.
While we were up for the party, we went to my old church's garbage can cookout. It was nice to see some old people but it really drives me batty when people I don't know all that well keep wanting to hold your baby. I know they mean well but I really get bothered when they hover over Addie and keep wanting to kiss and poo- poo her. I do want it to be known that I am not a snot though- I really don't mind people that I am close to holding and playing with my kids. It was really cute to watch Addie interact with an old friend's teenage son. She thought he was the cream of the crop- she is starting to refine her flirting skills a little early ;) He of course was eating it up and keep hanging around her- which brought more and more smiles. If I must say so, she has some good taste- he grew up to be quite a handsome guy.
