we are home with lots of drugs and two sick children.
When we got there, Micah temp had spiked again to right under 104. He was really irritable, and still crying about his ear. Addie had started to act a bit more normal but then after her rectal temp taking- got a bit upset. Both of their pulse oxs were normal (thank goodness!) so we waited for the doctor to see and diagnose.
Soon after being in the room, Micah was given a dose of Motrin to lower his temp a bit. After examining (and a lot of crying) the doctor determined he has a severe ear infection- his ear drum is swollen and he has fluid that is actually leaking out right now. He is still congested from a cold- so he is also being treated for that as well.
Addie has complications from her cold- it has turned into a sinus infection :( Thank goodness she wasn't wheezing when breathing- we have been through that with Micah and it wasn't fun. She had a bit of a temp but they weren't too worried about that at this time.
Both kids were put on Augmentin and then Micah has drops to numb his ear and I have to give him a decongestant and alternate tylenol and motrin until his fever breaks.
Addie has the augmentin, albuterol (so not fun- but at least we already had the nebulizer), a decongestant and if needed I can alternate tylenol and motrin for her as well. I have so many drugs in this house right now- I could have a pharmacy!
I made up a dosing chart so I can keep track of what is given to each kid and when I last gave it. Hopefully the fevers will break soon so I can at least cross one drug off the list.
Micah is actually up running around right now after having some tylenol, ear drops and the augmentin. What a difference that made! Addie just got her first Albuterol treatment- she actually did really well with it. She is still cuddled up in my arms but I don't mind a few extra cuddles right now :)
I hope that you all have had a much better weekend than us but please keep the kids in your prayers- I hope this takes care of everything adn we can be healthy for all the holiday festivities coming up in the next week.

I'll keep praying. So glad their ailments were nothing worse. You try to get some rest, too.
