plagued with sickness this year? I am anal about sanitizing, we haven't been around too many people and yet we are infested with germs. I am so tired of sick husbands and children- I almost want to be sick to get a break from being doctor Mom around here. (not really- but geesh!)
After Micah woke up from his nap today he was acting fine, just as he had all day long. About a half hour later we were playing with one of Addie's new Christmas toys and it said to give your mom and dad a hug- well Micah hugged Tim and then just laid on him. After a few minutes Tim was like, "ummm- where is the thermometer"? I thought he was kidding- but lo and behold- according to our temporal artery therm. (though I am not quite thrilled by the consistency) his temp. was 102. something. NOT AGAIN!! Argh! He did start a bit of a cough late last nite- but I didn't think much of it- now I think that was a bit of a warning. We dosed him up with motrin and literally in 15 mins. he was running around like a mad man- playing with all his toys, dancing, etc... Fast forward to 3 1/2 hours later and his temp. is spiking a bit again (depending on which darn temp. you believe from the therm. It was anywhere from 99.9 to 102.5- but mostly in the 101s- so that is more what I am thinking). Sigh....He is of course in bed now but we did the double up- gave him some tylenol to hold over until the next motrin dose to hopefully keep the temp down a bit. I was already thinking of calling the doctor tomorrow for Addie's almost snoring like congestion noise everytime she tries to breathe and suck (is really getting in the way during her feedings :( ) and now I may have to take Micah in as well. I want to try and wait it out a bit- but I always get nervous. I keep asking if his ear hurts or tummy or head and the answer is usually no. He tells me they all feel better.
Micah was quite cute today while he "babysat" Addie for me so that I could get a shower. Addie was nicely playing with her Leap Frog gym and Micah was busy with other toys so I thought to myself- why not try to sneak off and get a shower. I asked Micah to make sure she could reach her toys and to come and get me if she started to cry. Most of the time I wait until she is either asleep or I put her in her crib just so that I am sure she will be fine- but I decided to venture out this time and see what would happen.
I of course took a really fast shower, and when I got out I hear, "Here sister, this is your toy. You play now." and then he started singing to her and she just started giggling away. They were having such a blast together. Micah was beside himself with pride- he even mentioned it again tonite when we were getting ready to go to bed..."Mommy I play with sister today while you showered. I shared toys and sister funny (he says this when she laughs). Sister fell over but she ok (she wasn't over when I came down- but I did teach him how to gently help her up when she does- so I have no clue if that happened then or just one of the other times throughout the day). ) Anyways...he was just so cute about all of it and just so proud that he had helped me out :) I kept telling him what a good boy he is and how helpful he was to me. I love little things like this- makes me feel quite special as a Mommy :)
I have to praise my sweet Timothy tonite as he was a wonderful husband to me today and did something no husband likes to do- he went to the store to get the unmentionables. Poor guy- he called making sure he was getting the right thing and was so lost and I had no idea how else to help him. He did good though and I am so proud of him. That of course leads me to a short rant...isn't one perk of nursing your children supposed to be no little visitor until you wean? It was with Micah and I just assumed it would be with Addie as well. Blah. My visitor is intruding on my life right now and I am darn tired of it.
I downloaded a wonderful new digital kit tonite that I can't wait to create a new LO with. I really need to sort through my pictures though and figure out what I want to scrap and what I don't. I have so many pictures my brain just swims with the thought of going through them all.
Maybe I will work on that later this week- right now I am tired, I am weak and I think I will sit back and relax a bit and enjoy a new magazine. (well not new- but new to me since I have a pile a mile high of magazines I haven't read since November's issues. Between my two paid subscriptions, two gift subscriptions, two free baby subscriptions and those my MIL gives me, I am kept well read around here ;)

What a good big brother Micah is! I was just smiling reading that whole entry. I really pray for health for you guys soon. I know how miserable even ONE sick person is much less having it go around and around.
