We had quite a scary nite last nite... she woke up a little after midnight struggling to breathe. She was wheezing and struggling to get in air- and was a bit blue all around her mouth and lips : (
I thought we were headed to the ER- but though I should call my Dr. first... so after finally getting a hold of the Dr. on call, we knew what to watch for and to keep her in the steamy bathroom just as we had been doing. Thankfully, after 15 mins or so in there- she started to breathe easier and her cough loosened up enough that she was getting color back. We kept her in our room with a vaporizer and such on and though it was a restless nite, filled with coughs and tossing and turning- we made it through until morning. The Dr. got us in right away and did a pulse ox, listened to her lungs and such. She wasn't as bad this morning- just more or less coughing and such... they think it was croup last nite but possibly bronchitis (again). She is now on two drugs and we are watching her to see if it will happen again. We will be keeping her in our room the next few nites to keep a close eye- but pray that I don't have to hear that sound again. There is nothing more scary than watching your child struggle to breathe and know that you have no control what-so-ever.
A few pics of the princess as she sits and waits for Daddy to come home...
(I don't think i shared these here...if I did- oh well...enjoy them again)
