An update and some pictures

I am sure many of you have been waiting all day for an update and that is what I am mainly here to post about. I just thought I would throw in her 2nd birthday party pictures... what I had hoped to be sharing Monday, to help us look beyond all of this medical jargon and remember the sweet girl we have all come to know and love.

Addie did really well today... she laid very still on the table while they marked her scalp and then put all the various wires and such onto it. She wasn't real happy to go to sleep after she saw Daddy had her Strawberry Shortcake book, so he stepped out of the room while I climbed into bed with her to cradle her to sleep. Being the thumbsucker and hair twirler she is, it was hard for her to soothe herself so she decided that my hair would work for her to twirl as she drifted to sleep.
She was perfect during the actual testing, though a bit hard to wake up in order to complete it at the end. Poor girl had already been drug out of bed at an ungodly hour, gotten to nap for maybe 30 mins and then was being forced awake again... she wasn't real thrilled.
The technician was actually the manager of the department and she told me that although she isn't "qualified" to tell me anything (they send it to a neurologist to read), she didn't see anything that would cause her concern and thought that everything looked clear.
That of course helps clear my mind a bit but until we fully hear, I still have that touch of worry (but ohhh so much less than this morning)

Of course, with this test being clear, we still really have no idea what caused her episode. BUT... a concussion, brain tumor, stroke, seizure and such can be ruled out. They are leaning towards it being severe dehydration or low blood sugar (her test was most likely NOT accurate at the hospital due to them waiting 3 hours after we arrived and her having had 3 cups of juice by that point). I am praying it is one of those two- things that we can totally watch out for at home and prevent. All of this has left me even more over-protective than ever, and gosh, I really realize how much I truly love both of my children and how I simply can't imagine life without either of them.

Now onto some fun stuff. Sunday was Addie's little 2nd birthday party... just my parents, Tim's mom and then my brother and his family, but it was simply perfect for her. She is enthralled with Strawberry Shortcake these days and that is just what we had as her party theme. She received a lot of wonderful gifts... many that are perfect for the backyard this summer. She already has enjoyed playing with her new Dora playdough, tunnel, jump toy and then Strawberry Shortcake and her "Little Tony" haven't left her side since she opened the package. One nite this week we had Tim, Huge stuffed monkey, Strawberry shortcake (large plastic doll), "Little Tony", Dora, Stuffed animal from ambulance, Addie and myself (and probably a few other random animals or dolls) all smooshed into a queen size bed. Yeah- loads of fun ;) What a parent will do to keep their little girl happy. LOL

So... if you would like to view the pictures, there are about 35 of them or so and they can be found here.
