The weather these last few days has felt more like late fall than late summer... and I haven't decided yet how I feel about it. I guess if it would quit raining for more than a few minutes at a time, I might come to a conclusion. Until then...
This cool weather has gotten me thinking about fall... which is of course, my absolute favorite season of the year. Apple pies, crisp leaves, warm colors, caramel apples, cider, cinnamon, football, cool nights, etc... I just LOVE fall!! With fall comes a few fun holidays... Halloween and Thanksgiving... both of which we enjoy at our house. Since I have been thinking about fall... which means I have been thinking about Halloween... I also have been thinking about the kid's costumes for this year. My mom always made these GReAT costumes for my brother and I and until we were older, we were usually some sort of theme. I have continued this with my children as well. The first year that we had both of them they were dressed up as characters from the Wizard of Oz. Two of my friends went in with us and we had pretty much the entire cast ;) I will have to find a picture and post it sometime (never mind- click the link to see!). Then last year we did OSU football player and cheerleader(not the actual picture of them in full costume- just what I happened to already have uploaded). It was VERY cute as well :) So... we had to hold up the tradition this year as well and it just so happens that my kids are totally into "Peter Pan" right now... which definitely has costumes for the both of them. Addie is over the moon about Tinker Bell and then Micah loves being "Mean Captain Hook" and loves that Peter flies. So... I think that is what they are going to be this year... Addie as Tinkerbell and Micah as well... whatever he happens to choose. I saw Toys R Us has adorable Tinker Bell costumes and Peter Pan/ Captain Hook can either be made or bought. I have a friend who has both of those costumes- one in Micah's size that she is looking to sell... so I do have a hook up there if he happens to want Peter Pan :) I can't wait- I don't care anything about the holiday in itself, I just think it is so fun to let them dress up and carve pumpkins and such. :)
