My first thanksgiving Dinner

and Christmas outfit woes...

Tim and I never think much about holidays until they are almost upon us and this year was no different. When asked by my parents what we were doing for Thanksgiving this year, besides going to Tim's Mom's, we had no idea. Unfortunately, between everyone's work schedules... things weren't going to work out for us to go up there as we usually do. I suddenly found myself offering to make dinner for my parents and brother and his family on Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving). Unfortunately, I was told that not only did my Mom have to work that day, my brother would also be leaving to go out of town so my idea was a wash. As I sat trying to figure something out, my mom offered up the idea of coming down over this weekend and doing something. I knew Tim and I had talked about going to an Over the Rhine concert but since we didn't have tickets, it wasn't going to work out afterall so we were able to finagle a time for them to come down and to test my cooking skills. All in all, I think things tasted quite yummy and everything was ready at the same time and right around when we had planned. It was fun to cook a huge meal like that though I doubt I will be doing it all that often (though Tim said now that he knows I know how to do certain things...)

In other points of interest, I still have yet to figure out a Christmas outfit for my kids and most places have already clearanced out outfits (what the heck- it isn't even Thanksgiving yet people!!) Anyway... I was looking at the Gap site today and saw the CUTEST outfit for Addie- of course at quite a hefty price but I LOVE it. Maybe it will go on clearance as well? LOL

Of course I still didn't see anything for Micah... but that isn't unusual. I really wish people would design things with Boys in mind sometimes ;)

This week should be nice and calm. I am finally done editing all sessions I have completed this year and just waiting on people to close their orders now so we can order and deliver before the holidays. It has been a crazy fun ride, but glad to have a break for awhile.
I can't wait until Turkey day- lots of yummy food (again!) and then shopping on Friday ;) with my niece coming over to hang out with us and have some fun with the kids. Addie has dance on Saturday and then back to the grind of youth and such on Sunday. Sometime in the next few days, holiday stuff will be coming out and I will be giddy with excitement as we draw closer and closer to the big day.
