Poor Baby Squash...

This little bean is already more photographed than either of my other two were the entire pregnancy and I am only 10.5 weeks. I went in for my first "big" appointment today- they talked to be about family history, risk factors, how I am feeling, etc... checked BP, checked BP again 20 mins later as it was raised, took 6 vials of blood, ran other tests, did a routine checkup, listened for the heartbeat and then did another ultrasound as they couldn't hear the baby's heartbeat with the doppler. Thankfully, I just seem to grow VERY active children and when we saw it on the ultrasound, it was moving everywhere with a heartrate of 160 bpm. I am actually measuring a bit ahead now but everything looks perfect :) I met with the insurance department and found that this munchkin is going to cost us $1020 just for my Dr. fees and then whatever hospital things are tacked on... good grief!! Good thing I started working part time- seriously! Of course that is just the beginning of how much this child will cost us, and if my hunches are right (thinking pink here) then this little munchkin will be quite an investment once we marry her off to some rich man that will treat us right in our old age ;) All kidding aside, I am very relieved to have a WONDEFUL NP that takes her time with me and ensures everything is a-ok before I leave the office. The practice I go to is wonderful... I can't say enough about them and am so glad to go through this one last time together. I will meet with my OBGYN my next visit at 14 weeks and then get to schedule the big ultrasound :) Eeek!! Things are definitely progressing quickly around here!

In other news... things are going great around here these days. Micah is doing well in school... if we can only get him to take his time on things. I am enforcing a "homework" rule until he can neatly write his name, numbers and color consistently in the lines as his papers are always saying that he needs work in those areas... which if he took his time- he doesn't. He just wants free time at school and his school work is suffering. So... until he gets that in his head... homework it is.
Ad is loving school as well and is getting more and more proficient in her studies as well. They are going on a nature walk tomorrow to learn more about fall foilage and then doing leaf prints in the classroom. She is always talking about her little friends and knows them by name when we pass them around town (which is something Micah never remembered so this is a nice change) I can't believe she is such a big girl these days :)

This weekend will be hectic as usual but even more so as I have my last wedding photo session of the year scheduled for Saturday. Thankfully it is supposed to be beautiful weather. My parents are coming to stay with the kids which also means they get to come see Micah play soccer on both Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately I won't get to see them much but at least the kids will get some quality time. Sunday brings about another KIDMO (our church's children's programming) which thankfully is fully planned and prepped so now we just have to go there and through it :) It will definitely be a whirlwind weekend but filled with lots of fun and excitement!

The kids are crying, fighting, and otherwise being pests to one another right now so I must put on my ref suit and go break up the menagerie. Ahhhh... somedays I think I am crazy for adding another to this mix. God give me the strength...

The squash thing started with some teens from church. People have been asking our name choices and we are keeping them quiet until we are sure what the baby is so there isn't discussion over them. So... to pacify them I told them that the names both start with an "S" boy and girl. So... they have dubbed the baby "Squash" until they know otherwise.
