The Voices Within Me

I can't believe I just wrote that title but I guess that ultimately it is true- my little guy is already 3 weeks old. This morning I laid in bed reminiscing back 21 days ago- hearing him kick all over the monitors that had me attached to, meeting him to first time/ hearing that first cry, holding him in recovery, seeing him and his massive hair-do in our hospital room, etc... etc... and had to hold back tears at all the firsts that are already passed and never to be again. I am an emotional mess- I can't believe he is truly our last baby...that I won't ever again take another pregnancy test, or hear the first gallop of a heartbeat at the Drs... but none-the-less, it won't ever happen again. It is because of this that I want to bottle up all of Silas' newborn goodness and hold onto it forever. I want to treasure each yawn, each little sigh, each time he falls asleep in my arms and just never let them go. If only I could stop time for just a little while...

Silas is doing well at 3 weeks- eats like a champ (more like he fears it won't ever come around again but that is another story...) and is getting chubbier and chubbier daily. He still HATES bath time, diaper changes and being almost anywhere besides my arms (not that I am complaining most of the time...). He likes his binky- but only the ugly "medical supply" hospital one that we have two of. I pray that neither of those are ever lost...
Size wise I have no idea how heavy he is but we are still in newborn diapers/ clothing though 0-3 items are probably just around the corner. He is built like the other two- short legs and longer torso so even though he is big he will probably be right within the normal size range for clothing. I hope that is the case as that is how I bought/ saved clothes ;) I can't wait to pull out some of the outfits... they might not be quite as fun as girl things but there are some really cute boy things at this stage as well.
