I am so glad to have made it to Friday this week- I really wasn't sure it would ever come. Micah completed his second week of first grade and is still holding strong with all green (good) days. He has a little homework every nite which he is NOT a fan of but we work through it pretty quickly. He seems to be doing really well although his teacher is very hmm... how do I put it? Particular. That works. If his letters are barely above the line in handwriting they are circled and he gets an S- which is stressing him out but I hope in the end it will help make him a more conscientious student.
Addie started preschool this week- she has five or so kids from her class last year with her and then a lot of new friends. She had fun on her first day and can't wait to go back next week for the full week :) It will be nice to get into a schedule again though I will definitely miss having her around all day... esp. since she helps entertain Silas.
Silas had his four month checkup and is a whopping 17 bs 12 ozs. Aye aye aye- he is a big boy~! He is doing really well- rolling over (which he insisted on showing the Dr. numerous times on the table!), "talking", grabbing at things and pushing up on his arms when on his belly. He had to get two shots and then an oral vaccine but overall did VERY well :) Unfortunately, he has been waking up at 4:00 am and NOT going back to sleep. Absolutely nothing works... food, burping, diaper, etc... he just wants to play. Looong days as a result...
If you happen to follow high school football :) our team won last nite against our cross town rivals. It was a HUGE game- on statewide tv and a crowd of almost 9000 crammed into our stadium. Eek! It was fun to take the kids- Addie loved the cheerleaders- esp. when the advisor had a few of them come talk to her. She said it was her "best day ever" and she is already looking forward to being a cheerleader one day herself.
Silas is actually asleep so I am going to take this moment to go shower and get a few things done around the house. Beautiful Labor Day weekend ahead... hope you all get to get out and enjoy it!
