our precious little girl was brought into this world. Our lives have all changed and although I wasn't sure how I could love another child like I love Micah, I found that my heart just has that much more room now :) I already can't imagine life without her and I am just so happy and proud of my two children.
So this is how it all played out... As scheduled, I went in for my repeat c-section at 10:00 am on Thursday June 16th. When we got there- things moved so fast it was almost surreal. I was instantly taken to a room, put into a gown, hooked to monitors and started all of the fun paperwork. It was fun laying there watching my contractions compared with other moms- it made me wonder how soon she would have been here even if I weren't having a c-section.
After all of the paperwork was completed (and my answering of the same question a million and one times) we were left to wait until the operating room was cleared and my doctor was ready. The worst part of this time was the insertion of the iv- they took four tries- with the anesthiologist being the only one who could get in an iv. OUCH! As soon as the room was clear- Tim and I were seperated and he was taken to get his scrubs on and I was wheeled in for my spinal and IV.
After the drugs took effect (which was really really fast)the surgery began. Tim was brought in and placed at my right side- video camera in hand. Within 10 mins. Addison Elisabeth was brought into the world. 15-20 mins later the surgery was over and I was being wheeled into recovery. Minutes after that, they brought my precious baby to me to hold and attempt to nurse. Gosh was she beautiful :)
About a half hour or so we find out that little Addie weighed in at 8 lbs. 4 ozs. and was 20 inches long. She was just an ounce shy of Micah- YIKES!! And this was almost 2 weeks before her due date.
Things went smoothly that nite- grandparents came by to visit and we spent time bonding with our little princess. ON Friday we had lots of visitors and big brother Micah got to see his "siser" for the first time (though he wasn't real interested in her). Micah came back Saturday and did much better- he still took a bit to warm up to all of us but when he did- he wanted to see her and know what was going on.
We came home on Sunday afternoon and have since been adjusting to life as a family of four. Things have went pretty smoothly- Micah likes to help with "siser" by bringing diapers and throwing away dirty ones. He can even been found reading to her every once in awhile ;)
I love having a little girl- my little family is just so perfect. I love everyone so much- my heart is about to burst. Life is awesome and I thank God for the precious miracles that He has blessed my life with. With that- I am off to feed my munchkin but I will leave you with a few pictures to occupy your time with :)
