alone with both kids. It all started off quite well. I woke up right before 10 am and Micah was still asleep :) Addie of course stirred as soon as I left the bed, but it was time for another feeding so I really didn't mind all that much. Her and I got up and came downstairs and proceeded to eat our breafast and check out the net.
Around 11 I decided that since she was sleeping- as was Micah- that I would jump in the shower real fast. I put her in the bassinette and took a nice refreshing shower. After I get out- all is still quiet so I set about getting dressed and made up for the day.
As I was getting dressed, Micah woke up- he was actually in a great mood- so much so that he wanted to go and see sister. He was being really cute so I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pics. That is when it all hit. Addie woke up from Micah's poking and prodding (and the falshing camera probably didn't help things) and started wailing. She needed a diaper change as did Micah. I set about changing her- Micah starts wailing- wanting breakfast and milk. I finish up with Addie and head downstairs to take care of Micah.
As we get downstairs, I place Addie in the bouncer and go to the kitchen to get Micah breakfast. She starts wailing and I rush about to take care of Micah's needs. Her cry turns into a "not catching her breath wail" and I start to panic. I run in there and grab her and try to calm her- all while Micah is crying b/c he still only has his milk cup. She somewhat calms down and I go back out to get Micah breakfast and change his diaper. Addie of course starts wailing again, but I have to think of Micah as well- so I finish up with him before picking her up to console her.
It just broke my heart to have them both need me at the same time and having to choose who to take care of first. My nerves were shot after that so luckily the rest of the day went smoothly. Micah actually took a nap (after a week of not having one while Grandma stayed here) and slept for over three hours. I pray that bedtime- which is just around the corner- goes just as smooth since it has been more than a little rough for the past week.
I know it will get easier and honestly it wasn't all that bad- but I hope that tomorrow goes just a bit smoother.
