Business

So my SIL is starting a photography business in the near future- something I have had the desire to do for years. While I wish her the best, I have a bit of jealousy that she able to do it at this time. I would love none other than to focus on this desire of mine but I know the timing is not right. Tim and I have had this business idea for years and I do know one day it will come true- but until then I will continue building my portfolio and refining my techniques. I don't want to become a carbon copy of other businesses out there- I want to have something I stand out for and until then I am going to keep working until I find it. I know I am progressing every day with my skills and I really want to be set before I take that huge plunge. Once I throw myself out there- it is sink or swim and of course I hope for the latter.
Anyways...it is sorta neat that Tegan and I share that same desire- and I honestly do wish her the best in her endeavor. Photography is such a fun world and it is a skill that whether you take it to the professional level or not, it will be worthwhile in the end. I can look at all the pictures I take of my own kids and just be happy that I have the talent to capture those moments in the best way possible. My parents are sure going to have the most photographed grandchildren out there :) I am sure that they won't mind all that much ;)
So to help me learn and build my skills, please feel free to comment on the photos that I post here on my blog. I am not talking about random snapshot pictures- but the ones where it looks as if I took my time composing the shot, etc... I know that some of them need criticism and I have to learn to take that- so I figure it is best to start with my friends that know and love me. I know I can't grow if I am complacent.
On that note, once again, good luck to you Tegan and maybe I will learn a few pointers from you along the way. We will need a family portrait done of us for Christmas- maybe you guys will to and we can swap? That is if you trust my skills enough to allow that ;)

you're like me "i can't wait until..." don't worry, everything will work out and you will be a fabulous photographer once you have the time to concentrate on it! you are definitely one of the best "amateur" photographers I have ever seen! and i will have to be one of your first customers and i know TONS of people with kids looking for a good photographer! i think your "angle" should be offering scrapbook pages too-you're awesome at LO's!

Well, then you and i have the same dream...yet i'm not able to launch out yet either due to "the big picture" in life. God has me (and you too?) right where He wants me for now...

    But...

Someday, maybe you and I will be professional photographers, living our dream.

Keep your dream alive and I pray the your sil will be an inspiration for you...

    God Bless..

    Teri :)
