Weekend

I just love weekends! Of course, weekends are supposed to be days of relaxation- which rarely happens- but it is just so great to have some "family time" on those days. Unfortunately we didn't get a lot of that on Saturday since Tim had an out of town meeting that day. That evening we were supposed to go up to Matt and Tegan's house for Tyler's party but being that Tim didn't get back until late and then having to be back for Breakfast Club today, it really wasn't feasible. We just had to relate our happy wishes from afar this time and hope that we get to see them soon.
Yesterday evening while out running a few errands, we stopped at a local park and took some pictures. Of course the lightening wasn't right, Micah wanted nothing to do with it and Addie was asleep, but it was fun none-the-less. I did manage to get a shot of a barn that I absolutely love. I will post it at the end of this entry :)
Today we had the Breakfast Club- which I thought went extremely well. I love having this service and I believe the youth do as well. I think it really adds an element to our group and I look forward to the future meetings. As a matter of fact, I am speaking at next month's service- I have some basic ideas but I really need to formulate things and listen to my heart here. I love being involved with the creative side of ministry- I just wish I could do it more often. Unfortunately we don't have a lot of options for the kids during most events, so I usually sit home anymore. I was actually supposed to go over and help with something tonite, but it just won't really work out with having to take both kids with me. At least I still have a little part with my work on the website and message boards- I hope this somehow keeps me a bit connected to everyone.
This week I am meeting once again with my new friend (that sounds cheesy but I don't know how else to put it) and her two kids. I am not sure if I mentioned this on here before, but I was connected to a relative that was moving to Ohio of a person whom I knew on a mesage board. We chatted a bit here and there and learned we have kids with similar ages and many other commonalities. To make a long story short, we met last week and I felt as though we really hit it off. Her and her two girls were adorable and I can't wait to get together again. I really hope that we become good friends- it is hard being a SAHM sometimes- everyone else is always working or too involved in their lives when not working. Sometimes I still feel so alone here even after living in this area for 5 years now. Needless to say, I welcome this new person into my life and really hope that our friendship grows.
Other than that, this week only holds a doctor appt. tomorrow for followup on my kidney. I have had a bit more pain- I hope that isn't a sign of another starting. I guess that we will see tomorrow- wish me the best! I think I am going to really make an attempt to get outside with the kids this week- it is supposed to be in the high 70s to low 80s- I am sure this weather will be gone before I can blink my eyes. This seems so uncommon for this time of year- and while I am ready to pull out my fall clothing, I won't miss out on this chance to enjoy the warmth for just awhile longer.
I have been really bad with posting the daily parental prayer- but here is day 5 for anyone that is somewhat following along with this.
"Father, help my children not to be like many others around them, but let them be "alert and self controlled" in all they do." 1 Thessalonians 5:6
