We made our usual trek back to Pennsylvania for the Labor Day get together. We had planned on making it a bit more special this year and had booked a hotel room to spend the nite. The nite before we left, we got a call telling us that a lot of people were not going to be attending this year due to the fear of gasoline shortages and the general high price of gas. We too had thought about not going, but decided that we already had planned on going and it was more or less too late to back out.
In the end, I am glad we continued with our plans. No there weren't as many people there- but that was kind of nice in it's own way. Things weren't as crazy and we were able to spend more one-on-one time with people- which we don't always get on the quick trips we make. Micah had a great time playing with the older boys and seeing Grandma and Grandpa again. Although Addie can't talk, I am sure she loved being held by all her great Aunts and Uncles and of course her Grandma and Poppa. She had a bit of a rough day on Saturday from all the travel and being off schedule but she was wonderful on Sunday- that is until the car ride home ;)
We tried to stop at Grove City Outlets on the way home- but since it was a Sunday they were closing in 20 mins. We had time to run in like two stores- and we found one great deal at Gap on jeans. Too bad we didn't have more time- I am sure we could have found a ton of things! I guess it is probably good we didn't have much time ;) We may plan a trip up there in the fall sometime- anyone else game? :)
This week my goal is to clean up the house a bit... Maybe if I make a list I will stay motivated.
1) Put away clothes and reorganize Addie and Micah's closet
2) Clean off my scrap book desk and put away the things I have purchased recently
3) Go through old magazines and get rid of anything more than 2 months old
4) Finish my "gifts"
5) Work on my LM DT submission article and projects
6) Make some cards
7) Laundry
8) Grocery Shop
9) Clean up my room
10) Figure out some ebay things
11) Work on Potty training Micah (anyone have any tips?)
12) Give Micah a hair cut
13) Maybe go shopping to get Micah some winter clothes
14) Pay bills
15) Reorganize Pantry
16) Install Programs on my computer
Ughhhhh...that is one long list and I am sure there is so many more things that I haven't yet listed. Blech. Cleaning and organizing never ends. I guess that is the life of a SAHM. I have to keep busy somehow ;)
Here are a few Labor Day pictures that I was able to snap while Addie was being cuddled by someone else. My poor battery died so I didn't get too many :(
