The Voices Within Me

For my Uncle Ron if you have a spare moment tonite and throughout the day tomorrow. A little after 8 am tomorrow, he will be heading in for triple bypass surgery. This is really rough on the entire family, he is younger than my Dad and they have a really close relationship. Everything has sorta happened real suddenly- it is almost hard to process. My Dad has been talking with him quite a bit- praying and just being there for him. Though this is a more common surgery and less risky than it was a decade or so ago, you always have that haunting thought in the back of your mind.

My Aunts drove over from PA to be there with my Aunt Karen tomorrow- we are all just waiting now. Uncle Ron was almost like a Dad to me when I was younger- they lived right around the block from us- my cousin Keith and I were pretty inseperable until we moved when I was 8. His family has always been there for us and now they need us to be there for them. Although I am nervous, I feel as though everything is in God's hands right now, and believe His Will will prevail. We all Love you Uncle Ron. May you feel God's arms around you as you face this unknown and may He comfort you and your family during this time.

UPDATE
I just talked with my brother and Uncle Ron has made it through surgery safely. It sounds as if things went as well as possible during surgery. He will be in Surgical ICU for 24 hours to be closely watched and then moved to a regular room. These 24 hours are critical, so please keep him in your continued prayers. Thanks for all your support.
