has Jen Beck been?
I feel as though my life was spent on the road this summer, and although I LOVED it, I am happy to say that we are officially home until sometime in November (well maybe short weekend trips to visit family, but nothing more than a weekend ;) )
This past week was a whirlwind of events. Saturday we traveled to Pennsylvania for our annual Labor Day family gathering at the Farm. That evening we drove to Grove City, PA, spent the nite.
We woke up Sunday morning to hit the outlets :) (WOW- there are SOOOOO many outlets there!) We had a great day shopping and left around 5 to drive to Lakeside for our final week this year.
Monday we met up with Lindsay in Toledo and now I am even more sad that we don't live close :( Our kids had a great time and it just felt so good to catch up again.
Tuesday we relaxed a bit- went to get the new season of LOST in Sandusky and found a great Ohio State Football uniform for Micah. I think I went running that nite and we played Shanghei Rummy until everyone was falling asleep at the table.
Wednesday Tim and I went golfing (I was inches- yes inches- from a whole in one) and Tim and I actually tied scores. We went back to the cottage and relaxed- took the kids to the park and walked along the Lake.
Thursday- um- what did we do Thursday? I think we went bike riding and I went running again. Otherwise we just relaxed. Oh- we got ice cream that nite :) Fresh peach sundae for me. And (just remembered) we played Bunko. I am NOT good at that game.
Friday Tim and I played tennis for the first time in a few years (he beat me) and went on another bike ride. The evening was spent at the lake and the park and getting ready to go home.
Saturday- well- we packed, cleaned and came home. On the way we stopped to get fresh peaches and corn and ate at Cracker Barrell for lunch. Saturday nite was spent watching the Buckeye game (Go BUCKS)! and then off for a semi-early bedtime.
Today was church, a burger bash and then thinking of cleaning things up ;) Tim is back to the working world with the youth kickoff tonite. Micah is still napping and Addie and I are listening to Classical Baby and eating cheerios.
So that was our week away- our end of summer hurrah. It is over now, and while I LOVE the fall weather, a bit of me longs for the warm summer days spent at the Lake again. I never truely appreciated the beauty until this year and now it is sad to see it end.
Of course, we have to hit the week back full speed ahead- how else would we have it? Micah starts preschool tomorrow at 9 and Tim, Addie and I are off to the library and YMCA to check about joining. Ms. Addie is a little fish in the water (literally ripping my hands off of her in the pool at the hotel) and we want to encourage that while she is still little. That and the fact that Tim and I need to workout and since it is getting cooler... We will see- it is quite expensive.
Tuesday I am babysitting most of the day and then Wednesday Micah is back to school. Ahhh- this will now be our life. Hopefully we settle into a routine pretty quickly and things go smooth with preschool. Other than that, I have another photo shoot sometime this week , still need to set the exact day and time and lots and lots of laundry to tackle.
In a few weeks I will be starting and leading a girl's Bible Study on Wednesday evenings which I am so excited about! I am no longer able to attend Sunday nite youth due to a lack of babysitters, so this is my way to hopefully stay in touch. I am hoping to head to Berean to check out some material sometime this week so I can be ready.
I have so many people I need to call and get together with- some I am sure think I am ignoring them- but 'tis not so!! I promise! I will do all I can to get together with everyone as my schedule permits.
This is probably pretty long and boring, so I will end until I post pictures of my school boy tomorrow. Pray all goes well for us- he still has a bit of seperation anxiety at times and I hope tomorrow morning will not be one of them.
