the season of Lent for those of us in the Christian faith. As a Methodist, Lent is not highly talked about other than in passing and most people really have no idea of what Lent is all about. The average person has probably heard of Fat Tuesday (which is today) and Ash Wednesday (tomorrow- the beginning of Lent) maybe Holy Thursday (also called Maundy Thursday), and Good Friday but really have no idea to the meaning behind these days. I will be the first to admit that though I know a little about each of these Holy Days, I truly lack the depth of knowledge behind their origins...thus the reason I am delving into a study about Lent this year. I have taken on the task of reading, "A Lenten Hobo Honeymoon" and will travel along the path to Easter in the coming weeks. I am excited about this journey and hoping to really gain a deepness of appreciation and knowledge of what this Lenten season is all about. I hope to be able to share snippets with you all here and there...and if you aren't interested, you can always skip that part of my writing each day. If it piques your interest, I invite you to walk this path along with me. Actually, i think I will create a separate blog for these postings...something that will stand apart from my normal daily ramblings. I will post a link to each day's entry here in hopes that a few of you will walk this path with me as well.
(I have decided to add Tim as a poster to the other blog as well- so you can read both of our thoughts as we walk this journey :) )
