yep- that is right- Valentines. And that word gets me the "Worst Mommy of the Year" award :(
Today was Micah's first day back to school in like 2 weeks. Being that we had our huge snowstorm last week, school was cancelled on Valentine's day which meant that Micah missed his party. Well I figured they would end up having one...but after talking to another parent/ former worker at the preschool, I didn't think that day would be today- so I didn't have Micah take anything in.
I am sure you have already guessed it, but when Tim took Micah into class, every other kid had their party stuff- except Micah. Thankfully we live about 3 minutes from his school and he had actually written almost all of his Valentines out already so Tim was able to run home and grab them, find a cute bag for his treats and get them to school before Micah noticed that he was the only one without. I will admit it- I cried when Tim came home and told me (I was getting Addie ready to go to his Mom's to help with computer setup). I felt about an inch big and as though I completely let my child down :(
All in all, things turned out ok- he was as happy as anything when i went to pick him up and could only talk about how much fun he had and how much candy was in his bag of treats. Even though there was a happy ending, I still feel as though I failed as a Mommy today.
The rest of the day was pretty lackluster, playing with the kids, taking stuff to the post office, cooking dinner, and then Girl's Bible Study with the youth. Oh yes and American Idol- which btw- there are siz girls who seriously ROCK!! :) WOW. Lets just vote off the guys and get on with the real singers. Ms. Addie woke up unconsolably crying and thus is sitting beside me in the chair right now - lets pray she calms down and is able to get back to sleep and thus giving Tim and I sleep as well. With that, I think we are headed upstairs to watch some Ugly Betty we have on DVR and then hopefully off to dreamland.

Oh sweetie you are SO far from being a bad mommy - a bad mommy would not have put in the effort to even make a "good ending"! And the beauty of children is their innocence - and that sweet adorable boy of yours didn't even know that you resolved the situation ;) Bask in his afterglow of happiness and be forgiving of self! *hugs*
(there I posted! LOL) And love the separate blog that you and Tim have created - will be following your thoughts and ponderings there as well. ;)
