For those of you that know Micah, it will come as no surprise to hear me say that he always has a question. I am continually amazed at the depth of his quest for knowledge and sometimes, it is almost frightening what he questions at his age. For instance, we normally deal with the "whys" and "hows" and "whens" etc... of normal childhood but today Micah turned it to questioning when Tim and I will die. He told us that he is scared for us to die and that he would be really sad without us. It broke my heart :( I am sure it is just more coming out from him losing his grandpa, his buddy, last spring but it is so hard to help them understand. Gosh, I just wish I could put a shield around him some days... to protect him from all the horrors of the world. Although he might be crazy, he truly has a sensitive and loving spirit and I don't want him to live in fear of the unknown.
On a lighter note, the kids have been crazy in their make-believe play recently. Although they have been trashing the house in the process, they are definitely creative. Today Addie was a farmer, which consisted of a bucket hat and dish towel around her shoulders. I forget what Micah said he was but he had on sunglasses and a towel around his shoulders as well. Most of the time Addie opts to be a princess as I am sure I have mentioned before... she has that down pat.
Micah has been enjoying his star station, but more for the video function than for singing. That boy is going to be a movie producer or something crazy like that in the future. He definitely LOVES electronics.
The kids and I made some cookies tonite- both assisting by tasting the dough and Addie even managed to get the butter wrapper out and lick it- blech!! The kids love to help cook and I have been enjoying their assistance during the past month :) We actually bought a new cookbook today and used two recipes tonite, both of which were quite tasty.
Tomorrow we are headed to a birthday party for one of the kid's little friends. It is at the Fun Fortress which has inflatables to play on so it should be a lot of fun :) I know the kids are definitely excited about it. Hopefully that will wear them out so we can have a nice quiet evening since Winter Jam is next weekend which means I will be home alone :(
On that note, I think I am off to play a bit of Wii and then head to bed. Micah starts swimming again tomorrow so it will be an early rise for us all. Here are a few of the baking pictures from this evening...
