So proud

of my little Micah Man. Today was our yearly "parent teacher conference" at his preschool and as always, I get a bit nervous before heading in, but this year there was definitely no reason to worry. Honestly, I don't think that there was any more of a higher compliment than what he and we as parents were paid today by his teachers. It was humbling to hear all that they had to say about him. Things that we have worried about (him being friendly to others, him helping cleanup and such...) are no problems and they actually said that he is very kind to everyone and has a lot of friends in class. Academically, they said he is above and beyond for his age, and they are continually surprised by his vocabulary, hunger for knowledge, ability to recall things from the past and things such as how he can read basic words and tell time both analog and digitally. We had been concerned about how he holds his pencil and they told us not to even worry b/c he writes so amazingly neat (has to be from Tim ;) ) and he already has such order and uniform letters that it isn't an issue at all. They had numerous funny stories to tell us about him and his head teacher said how she would just love to take him home b/c she just thinks the world of him. Seriously... it was emotional to hear so many good things about him... some of what we have noticed ourselves but to hear a teacher tell you...
They also talked to us about Kindergarten next year and showed us a survey that they will fill out to let his teacher know things they have picked up on the past year just in case he would have an off day during his screening. They told us that they are going to recommend his teachers to continually challenge him with his work b/c he easily gets bored with basic things. They also said that they would recommend him to be in leadership roles and a more advanced class b/c his levels are already up to what they will be doing next year.

I made sure to highly praise Micah for all he has done this past year and let him know how proud he made us today... but I had to share it with you all as well :) The boy is going to be smarter than both his Daddy and I in no time!

In closing... I thought I would share a few more Addie-isms from today.

A) Another bedtime one... Micah had gotten up to go to the bathroom and in the process woke Addie up. Not too long after Micah was back in bed, we saw Addie at the top of the stairs and she said, "I can't sleep b/c Micah woke me up. I am not proud of him right now. Are you proud Mommy? That wasn't nice and I'm not proud now"

and

B) Bedtime again... an hour or so after the last incident she still isn't asleep. Once again she is out of bed and she comes to the top of the stairs crying. Tim goes to see what is wrong and this is what played out.
Tim asked why she was crying. She said that she hurt her hand. He asks her to show him- which she does and he tells her that it isn't that bad. With big tears in her eyes she says, "but I can't wave now"

Crazy girl I tell ya!!
