This was the question from my 6 year old yesterday. After writing the word, "Purple" for the fifth time, in exasperation, he told me he is bored and wants to learn new stuff instead of all of the stuff they learned last year. I tried to explain the concept of "review" to him and point out that they are learning a new handwriting style and some new terms in math but those don't count in his mind b/c (in his words) "I already know how to write and add... those are teaching me anything new" Sigh... I hope he always has this desire to learn and for his sake, I hope first grade gets a bit more challenging b/c frankly, he is bored and when he is bored he goofs off. Life is tough when your homework isn't hard enough isn't it?
