Si8Months

I am still in denial that Silas turned 8 months on the 27th so it shouldn't be a surprise that this is posted a few days past that milestone. Silas is so much a part of our lives that I honestly can't remember life without him. Micah and Addison have always welcomed him with open arms and Silas loves them just as much if not even more back. I LOVE seeing how they all interact, from the older kid's greetings as soon as they wake up to his squeals of joy whenever they enter the room... they have an amazing bond that no one else can touch.
The past month has brought so many milestones that it seems as though I am loosing every little bit of baby that was left in him. From crawling 2 weeks prior to Christmas to standing two days before Christmas, everything is rushing by all too fast. Silas has become an expert crawler in a matter of two weeks and has definitely shown me that our house was not babyproofed any longer. I definitely think he is going to keep us on our toes but when he flashed his little dimpled grin he "almost" takes away any frustration I have at trying to keep him from crawling in between the couch and chair (yet again) or opening our tv stand doors.
At this point, I think we have tried most baby foods and he loves everything except the meats (and honestly, can one really blame him? Have you smelled that stuff?) He devours puffs and these veggie cheese twisty things and love Rice rusks for special treats. He nurses about 4 time or so during the day and twice or so during the nite/ early morning. His last Dr. appt. (middle of Dec. for an ear infection) put him at 22.5 lbs and 28.5 inches which means he is a BIG boy! He is right on track with Micah at this age and although he is big now, I am guessing his rolls will be history as he starts becoming more and more mobile as the same was true with his brother and sister.
As for entertainment, although absolutely disgusting, one of his favorite things to play with is the nose sucker thing from the hospital. (I know- disgusting!) He likes to chew on it and it will usually stop his tears in mid-cry when handed over. For more normal items, he enjoys Baby Einstein, balls, teething toys, his toy phone and tags of all sorts.
In following with his brother, Silas is still toothless at 8 months although I swear he has been teething for the last 5. I still see no signs of teeth though I thought I might have before Christmas but it seems to have been a false alarm. Although it makes nursing easier, I hope he can pop something through soon as I know he has been working hard and his poor gums have to be aching.
Si still has his crazy curly/ wild hair and uses a binky (only the soothie kind) when he is sleepy. He likes to play with ears (both his and Daddy's) and also pulls his hair when nursing. In all honesty, he needs a hair trim around the ears and it is now over the top of them but that isn't on the docket for quite some time. For the time being, lots of water and strategic combing to make it look managable :)

So... that is Silas at 8 months of age. I love that boy more and more every day and speaking of... he is ready to go down for his morning nap.
