Following Christmas morning/ afternoon here at home, we headed over to Tim's mom's house to meet up with his siblings and their families for our Christmas gathering there. Lots and lots of people and lots of gifts that take a long time to open (we always do one person at a time starting with youngest and moving to the oldest. This takes all day being that there were 19 of us)
Lots of fun gifts for the kiddos and lots of good conversation for the adults.

On the Sunday following Christmas, we headed up north to my parent's house to celebrate Christmas with them. We drove up in nice temps and little to no snow on the ground and enjoyed a nice time of opening gifts and just sitting around relaxing. It was just our luck that a big lake effect storm came through overnight and made driving home treacherous. We drove through white out conditions and more or less made our own tracks for the first half hour or so of the drive. Thankfully we made it back to Louisville without incident and that closed our Christmas 2009 celebrations. The tree stayed up until the second day in January but alas that too has been put away and Christmas seems like a distant memory that I look forward to coming around again in 2010.
