I know... technically the kids have been on vacation for a week already but due to the fact we left immediately after school let out last Thursday, the reality of being home for 3 months hadn't yet set in. I am vowing to not be a lazy sloth this year (not that I ever "really" am but I am trying to utilize my creative juices more) and plan something fun for each day.
After a morning of laying around and enjoying the fact that we really had nowhere to go, we finally got ready for the day around 11 and proceeded to play a bit of pac-man on the Wii. (really being creative here aren't I?!?) We all had fun until Silas decided he was more important than our game and kept getting in between the tv and the player. Tim mentioned that he would like to take the older two out to shop for my birthday which meant Si and I had the afternoon alone. What I expected to be maybe 2 hours turned into four (what in the world did they buy?!?) and I decided to put the time to good use and tackled the laundry, dinner and a fun project for the evening... cut out cookies. The kids each picked out a new cookie cutter while we were at Lakeside and we jumped in headfirst breaking them in. After a big mess, lots of sprinkles and dough eaten by the fingerful, we have an abundance of sugar cookies to carry us through the weekend (at least I hope!?!)
I have also vowed to try and take a picture everyday of our summer vacation from June through August. (I am a 365 failure) I clumped all of Lakeside together in the last bunch but here are some from today... I am just resizing and posting as to save time :) Enjoy!
(Oh... I forgot to add some funny Addieisms for the day...)
"Can I get some cuddles now?" (said when Silas wouldn't leave my lap and she wanted a turn)
"Did you got to cooking school to learn how to bake?" (said when we were making cookies)
"I get to choose how to decorate because it is MY job" (again... cookie decorating)
"Happy birthday my Mommy queen" (b/c you know she is the princess so that makes me... the Queen ;) )
it should be noted Addie chose her clothes and hair accessories today (even brushing her own hair and putting in her clip on her own)
