Saturdays

Saturdays somehow are usually not all that relaxing here at our house. In fact, the entire weekend is hardly ever relaxing, our "Free days" usually come on Mondays- that is a day Tim is usually able to take off. I guess that is the life of being married to a Youth Pastor. I am not really complaining, I just live a completely different schedule than most of the rest of the world.

Today Tim was over at the church for 9 hours for our youth group "Rock-A-Thon". This is exactly what it sounds like- a day of rocking to raise money for this year's mission trip. The kids had fun with it and were able to raise quite a bit of money. The kids (ours) and I ventured over for lunch and dinner and Micah loved all the attention from the girls. He is going to be such a player ;)

For being home alone most of the day, I still ended up being productive. I was able to complete two more loads of laundry (it NEVER ends!), bathe Addie, unload and reload the dishwasher, sweep the kitchen, clean up and vacume the living room, and mostly complete my altered project for Addie's room. I must say, I am quite impressed with myself ;)

Tomorrow will be another long day; church from 9- 11:30 (where I pray Addie will not scream and actually allow me to leave her in the nursery- at least for the Sunday School hour since Tim is leading confirmation class and won't be with me), lunch and then the usual family nap time. Tim heads to church around 4 and gets home around 9. Sigh...anyone wonder why I feel like I will go crazy some weekends? I love my kids and all- but Micah has been running around the house like a madman the last few days and now that Addie is crawling; she is into EVERYTHING!! I forgot how much work a crawler can be. I really feel like a need a break right now. Hopefully I can schedule in a hair cut this week, get my new glasses, and look for a cheap dress for the wedding on Saturday. I am not one to really dress up so I am not sure if I have anything suitable. I know Tim won't really be for me looking- we don't really have the extra money right now- but it is a fun thought. Sometimes just browsing for new things cures my "wants".

I am exhausted right now- would it be wrong to turn in at 11pm on a weekend? I feel like such an wimp right now. Oh well- I think getting ready for bed and maybe reading a bit of my new CK might be just what I need. Heaven knows I already stuffed myself full of junk food today which will totally offset any and all progress I have made this week with my exercise routine.

Oh boy, Addie is really getting around now isn't she. Won't it be fun when she finally starts walking. With Aiden it's never ending anymore. He has even better walking over to Tyler to steal his food. lol I completely know what you mean about crazy schedules. Matt's military schedule was always crazy. We would have days off when the rest of the world was working, it was always insane becuase then we would have to spend those days getting everything done like doc. appts. since they were working and Matt was not. Hopefully you will be able to get some rest soon!
