While I was up at Lakeside a few weeks ago, I attended a brunch for spouses of those in ministry. During the gathering, the wife of our Bishop (the local head of our church) recommended a book called, "The Shack" She didn't say much about it, only that it challenged her and really helped her gain new understanding of the Triune God and helped her know and understand God on a more personal level.
Anyway... I am not sure why, but her mention of that book stuck with me for some time and I finally picked up the book two days ago. All I can say is, "Wow" and I totally recommend the book for anyone looking for a fresh new understanding and more intimate relationship with God. The book challenged me and my preconceived notions (even making me mad at times) but helped me see a completely different view and facet of God that had never appeared to me before. The book took my heart and tore it to shreds and rebuilt it with a new and deeper understanding that I didn't think I was lacking beforehand...
I was planning on offering to allow others to borrow my copy but I think it is something I need to hang onto, to process and digest over and over and it is almost too personal for me to allow it to just be passed along. I do however, HIGHLY recommend you to purchase a copy for yourself (Berean has it for 20% + an extra 10% off right now) and just maybe it will touch your life as well.

My mom is reading the Shoack right now and she says it is really good. Someone in her SS class gave it to her to read. She has not told me much about it either, but did say that I should read it to. So it must be good.
