and here is how I do (*did) it.
I have always have a love/ hate relationship with coupons. They are a pain to cut/ organize but I know they are worth it for products that I normally use (there are times when it isn't worth it... like if you are just buying b/c you have a coupon) Throughout the years I have used them then quit using them and back and forth. Recently couponing has taken on almost a cult following and I am slowly getting sucked in. Last week and today's deals are just the reason why.
Rite Aid started this "wellness" card which gives you extra savings. Just focusing on this week (although I did have six dollars in wellness bucks from last week) I bought two products. Huggies diapers (which I normally didn't use but thought I would try a few weeks back due to the fact they were a great deal. They worked out ok so I thought we would get them again... esp. due to the fact they were almost free!) Anyway... Rite Aid has the jumbo packs of Huggies for $7.99. If you go to their website you can get a $2 off coupon as well... making them $5.99. There were also coupons in the last few weeks coupon inserts for $2 and $3 off Huggies. Their Crest with scope is $2.69 and you earn back $2.69 in the wellness bucks (making them essentially free)
So... I went and purchased 3 packs of Huggies ($23. 97) and two tubes of Crest toothpaste ($2.69 each) bringing my total to around $30. I first used my $5 off $25 purchase coupon. I then used two manufact. $3 coupons plus a $2.50 manufac. off Huggies and then a Rite Aid $2.00 off Huggies (from Video value on website) which took $10.50 off my total. Rite Aid also has an area where you can watch ads and earn a $5 of $25 dollar purchase. I also had two $.75 off of Crest (which actually means I made $1.50 on them...) to use. Even just using only these I would have only paid $13 dollars (plus tax) for 3 packs of diapers and two tubes of toothpaste AND gotten back 2 coupons for $2.67 each (from the Crest) BUT I also had $6 in the extra care bucks from a similar Huggies deal a week or so ago so in total I only spent $7 plus tax (AND have $5.34 in future extra care bucks) for 3 packs of diapers and two tubes of Crest. AWESOME!! deal.
